Quad biking & buggy rides in Marrakech: the practical guide
Seasons, times, age, licences, clothing and getting to the Palm Grove: the questions our customers ask before booking, all on one page.
The Palm Grove through the year
We ride all year round. What changes is the best time of day.
Spring
The best time: mild days, snow still on the Atlas, green palms.
Every time slot is pleasant.
Summer
Very hot in the middle of the day, often above 40 °C.
Book 9am or after 5pm.
Autumn
Ideal temperatures return, with golden light in the late afternoon.
The 4 to 6pm slot is the most popular.
Winter
Sunny days around 20 °C, cool mornings.
Bring a jacket for the start.
Age, licence and experience
Age
You must be 18 to drive a quad, buggy or bike. Children from about 6 to 8 can ride as buggy passengers with an adult.
Licence
A car licence is needed to drive a buggy. An A or A2 motorbike licence is required to rent the TMAX or Ténéré.
Experience
The automatic quad and the buggies suit beginners. The Raptor needs you to be comfortable with gears; motocross needs previous motorbike experience.
What to wear
- Long trousers: jeans or joggers
- Closed shoes, ideally trainers
- Sunglasses for the break
- A scarf or buff against the dust
- A light jacket in winter
- Everything else (helmet, goggles, gloves) is provided
Reaching our base
Our base is in the Palm Grove, north of Marrakech. You don't need to get there yourself: the shuttle comes to your hotel, or to the nearest access point if your riad is down a Medina alley. If you're already staying in the Palm Grove, send us your location on WhatsApp.
Directions on Google MapsYour questions answered
01Do I need to have driven a quad before?
No. The automatic Grizzly and the buggies take a few minutes to learn after the briefing. Only the Raptor and the motocross bikes require you to know how to change gear.
02How long does the ride last?
One hour of riding. With the shuttle, gear and tea break, allow 2.5 to 3 hours from leaving to getting back to your hotel.
03Can two people ride one quad?
Yes, on the Grizzly 700. The Raptor 700 R is a single-seat sport quad. To ride side by side, choose a buggy.
04Can children come?
Yes, as passengers in a buggy from about 6 to 8 years old, with an adult driving. You must be 18 to drive.
05Is the buggy price per person?
No, it's per vehicle. The passenger is included, so a Polaris RZR at 800 MAD works out at 400 MAD each for two.
06How do I pay?
On site after the ride, in dirhams or euros. We don't ask for a deposit to book.
07Can I book on the same day?
Yes, if a slot is still free. Message us on WhatsApp: the team replies every day from 9am to 8pm.
08Can I combine a quad ride with the desert?
Yes. Many guests ride in the Palm Grove when they arrive and then leave for the 3-day Merzouga trip, where a quad session in the dunes is also possible.
Shall we save you a slot?
Tell us the machine, the day and how many of you are coming: the team confirms your hotel pick-up time. Nothing to pay until you're there.
